I just paid off my student loans, and thanks to the wonders of wireless tube transfers, my ten day payoff made it in less than ten days. Sallie Mae owes me a buck-fifty or so.
I'll start feeling the benefit of these savings in about a year and a half, when I've paid off Leopold and this here ticket to kingdom of His Majesty Bhumibol Adulyadej I got yesterday.

So did you get a good price on your ticket?
I assume that if I had planned it months in advance, instead of the month before, it'd be cheaper. But it seems like a reasonable price for a ticket to asia right now. It's Thailand's high season now, and months away isn't actually coming cheaper. Partially, though, I'm paying a premium to stay in my airmiles plan...but I'm getting a good chunk of miles this way. Wouldn't be saving enough to delay a year or dwell on it.
Wait, was the Wii partly a reward for paying off the student loans? Either way, congratulations! That's great news. Now, time for grad school.
The thought of having less money is easier this way.
No grad school for me.
